Sharon was already here. Shang Ming, Loren and JM came in shortly after and we started to look for the check-in counter. Counter 2 was meant for staff check in, but we only saw the flight attendants queueing, so we were moving between counters 2 and 3. We finally got to check in at counter 2. The load's quite good today - Great news for SIA! =)
Ivan, Shihling, Yilinn and Jimmy also turned up at the airport. We chatted till around ten to eleven before entering the departure gate (B4). The interior of the newest terminal looks more spacious than the other two terminals, but then again, for 1.7 billion bucks, one would expect nothing with less grandiose.
There was a very long queue at the security area, a direct result of the anti-terror regulations and perhaps because it's day one of the terminal's operations. There was an unusually long queue (by Changi Airport standards) and the staff seemed helpless to speed things up.
Toilets at the departure lounge leave much to be desired. There was no toilet paper, pee all over the floor and a water cooler that jammed half of the time.
On board the plane, SQ 324 to Amsterdam, I got the dutch daily and realised that it's actually quite hard to understand the language. Urgh.
I have the company of this nice lady, who hails from Utrecht. She is conversant in Dutch, German, French and English. Speaking on multi-lingualism. Shame on us!
The seats were spacious, and dining was a pleasant experience.
~ Supper Menu ~
Mizuna with scallops
Seared Chilean Bass
Fruits and cheeses
Tea
Grabbed a snack of fishball noodles in the middle of the flight, as it was quite dry in the cabin.
Rested till around breakfast, and then the plane cabin was prepared for landing at Amsterdam's Schipol Airport.
